Decision-making is known as “life’s blueprint” because they are the plans and blueprints for your whole life. There are 2 types of decision-makers: those who make their decisions based on their future and those who base their decision on the present.
What is decision-making?
Decision-making is the thing that you do as a person that helps to determine your future.
It can be something as small as what you are going to eat, or something as big as deciding what you want to do with your life. Decision-making is a powerful thing. With this process, you can better or worsen your life.
What is the difference?
There are 2 types of decisions, future and present. Good decisions are decisions that benefit you, whether they benefit the future or present. Then, there are the not-so-good decisions. These are the ones that don’t benefit you or your future in any way at all.
Some people make the mistake of making decisions, good or bad, based only on their current situation. They tend to look at the now and disregard their future. Something as small as the way you speak to certain people can affect how your future may turn out.
How can I better my decision-making?
No one can tell you how to better your decision-making. That is something for you to figure out considering your life or situation and it is not the same for me as it is for the next person.
What I will say is this:
Just think about your current life and situation. Ask yourself these questions:
- Do I have real, good friends?
- Do I think about my future?
- What am I doing now that will benefit my future?
- Am I taking the extra step?
- Am I where I want to be in life?
After thinking and reflecting on these questions, only you can determine what you can and will do with the outcome. The decision-making is up to you.
