According to Pantone executive director, Leatrice Eiseman, Ultra Violet inspires imagination and inventiveness.  Chosen by Pantone at the beginning of each year,  Ultra Violet, also known as PANTONE 18-3838, was chosen as the color to represent 2018.  Summer and fall are the perfect seasons to wear the color of the year.

Ultra Violet evokes feelings of dignity, strength, and wisdom.

In this article, I listed some online options for affordable Ultra Violet options. I tried to keep a large variety of styles in mind with the pieces I chose.  For subtle pops of Ultra Violet accessories are the way to go.If there’s something here that doesn’t speak precisely to you, I still recommend checking out these sites since most have a variety of style options. Historically Ultra Violet also has been known to have a mysterious and spiritual essence and is represented in a variety of religious platforms.

Purple is a color that barely seen in nature and historically used to be one of the most expensive dyes to make. The color purple is often associated with royalty partially because in the past they were the only ones who could afford to wear it.

In the American military, a purple heart is a symbol of bravery that’s awarded to wounded soldiers. Purple is also the color that represents the Crown Chakra which is connected with consciousness. As well Priests wear purple because in the bible the color is symbolism of the union of flesh and the word of god.

In fashion, Ultra Violet is extremely gender neutral. The color can be easily paired with neutrals or either side of the color spectrum. Its balance of the brighter red and the deepness of the blue hues.

Many big fashion houses jumped to incorporate the color of the year, sending hundreds of beautiful pieces down the runway, incorporating either a pop of Ultra Violet or a head to toe ensemble of the color. However, if you are like me and can’t yet afford those expensive runway price tags you don’t have to sit at home admiring them from afar. Just like the high fashion designers contemporary and fast fashion brands have embraced Ultra Violet; you can also get the look but at a much less expensive price point.

Ultra Violet clothing pieces are a year-round fashion statement.
