Do you know how to relax and let go?
I wrote Girls Guide: How to Relax & Let Go because I had to teach myself to relax over fifteen years ago when I was suffering. I was able to recover but only after I put in the hard work to discover and implement the keys to maintaining my balance.
You think relaxation and letting go should come naturally, and maybe at some point in our lives, it did. However, especially in times like these where we are challenged by the stress of COVID-19 and ordered to shelter in place, we could use some guidance and be reminded of what to do.
Today, I still have to be aware and make deliberate efforts to heal myself, be peaceful, and calm. My mind, body, and spirit are healthier as a result of my ability to relax and let go. I bring these practices and action steps with me everywhere and in everything that I do.
I hope that you find this information useful in your journey!

From the chapter “Why We Need to Relax” from Girls Guide: How to Relax & Let Go by Angela D. Coleman:
“The benefits of relaxing and letting go are too numerous to name in just this section. Without it, there are negative impacts that extend beyond not feeling great. Perhaps, most importantly, relaxation and letting go represents FREEDOM. It liberates you from worry, tension, and the baggage that goes along with it.
It is literally impossible for you to carry all of your everything with you everywhere all the time. So, why try? Let it go instead… READ MORE

What’s love got to do with it? Everything. Self-love is the foundation of self-care. Self-care is the foundation of self-preservation.

Self-love is the key to self-acceptance. When we love and accept ourselves unconditionally, we are in harmony. This psychological balance is a strong foundation for life success.
When you truly love and accept yourself, you can be much more nonchalant and carefree, thus increasing your freedom. Instead of doing what people expect you to do or caring about the opinion of others, you are empowered to do what is actually best for you… READ MORE

From the chapter “Making the Shift” from Girls Guide: How to Relax & Let Go by Angela D. Coleman:
Nature helps you realize that you are never alone in the world. A natural environment helps you to feel your feelings rather than repress them. Furthermore, studies show that people influenced by nature tend to be more generous. So, don’t hesitate. Put that plant in your room!
Better yet, go outside and look at the sky. Breathe deeply in and out several times. Touch your toes. Do some twists. Feel the difference this special moment creates.
When you are in nature, you can hear, smell, and feel the pulse of life itself, everywhere and in everything. Like us, the world is alive. We can connect with all types of life when we immerse ourselves in nature.
- The sea. Historically, cultures around the world have known, felt, and seen the health benefits of: 1) the mighty ocean, 2) fresh, clean air, and 3) the warm sun. Doctors and other health professionals recognize it, too. It is what we can accurately describe as the Healing Trifecta… READ MORE
