Learning to love your body is not always easy.  In a society with very specific and clearly defined attributes for beauty, you may not always know where you fit in. Everybody’s body is different and no two are exactly alike.  That’s good!  Being unique is an attribute, something to cherish and be happy about.

Know that multicultural beauty defines what is beautiful in many different ways.

Learning to love your body sometimes take time and effort.  beauty has always been in the eye of the beholder.  Before anyone else can appreciate your beauty, you must appreciate your own beauty yourself.  Be patient and gentle with yourself and have grace.

I will share how I have learned to love my body over the years.

Loving how I move

Learning to love your body means loving how you move.

I deeply admire and value my physical body, appreciating its remarkable capabilities and extraordinary potential. My body is a magnificent creation that enables me to experience the world in countless ways. It allows me to move, to explore, and to engage with the environment around me.  I am grateful that I can move the way that I can.  I am thankful for how I was born.

One aspect that I truly appreciate about my body is its ability to heal and regenerate. Whenever I experience a physical injury or illness like when I had surgery on my ankle or when I catch a cold, my body works tirelessly to restore itself to a state of health. This innate ability to heal is truly remarkable and something that we all share.  I am grateful for my body’s capacity to heal every day.

When I lift something heavy and lift weights, my body’s physical strength and endurance consistently astound me. I can run long distances and engage in intense physical activities without worry.

My body consistently impresses me with its power and resilience. I am still learning to love my body, especially what it is capable of achieving.

SELF-LOVE-HOW TO DO IT BETTER

Loving how I feel

Learning to love your body means loving how you feel.

In addition to its physical capabilities, my body also plays a vital role in my overall well-being. In The Art of Chilling Out for Women, I wrote in great detail about the many benefits of regular exercise and physical activity.

Physical movement is beneficial for physical health but also has a positive impact on my mental and emotional well-being. When I engage in physical activity, I feel a sense of accomplishment and a boost in my mood.

Dancing brings me joy.  Yoga gives me peace.  It is through my body that I can release stress and tension, resulting in a greater sense of calm and balance.

BOOSTING SELF-ESTEEM IN SIMPLE WAYS

Loving how I look

Learning to love your body means loving how you look.

My body is unique and is a representation of beautiful diversity. Every individual’s body is different, and these differences should be celebrated and embraced.

It is through our diverse bodies that we can appreciate the beauty and complexity of our individual and collective humanity. Each body tells a story of resilience, strength, and individuality.

When you realize that your body is an incredible gift, then you can express gratitude for your body, love yourself, and love how you look. Try this AFFIRMATION:

“I will continue to nurture and care for my body, recognizing its importance in my overall well-being.”

Learning to love your body means appreciating and celebrating our bodies for the extraordinary vessels that they are.

The path ahead

We can uplift each other in the spirit of sisterhood.  How are you learning to love your body?  How do you express gratitude for your body and yourself?  Do you keep a journal?  Are your friends and family supportive? How do you teach others to help them when they are struggling?  What would you tell your younger self in the process of learning to love your body?
