A lot of people tend to think that meditation is boring, that meditating is just sitting there quietly and doing absolutely nothing. No, it’s not true! Although that is a form of meditation, that is not the only way that can be done.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is the practice of being mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.

Being able to meditate is not something that everybody knows how to do. This saying may help.  A wise man once said:

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup.”

The meaning behind this quote is to just relax, and don’t let yourself be trapped in a simple mindset. That is where meditating comes in.

How can meditation help?

Meditation can help in numerous ways, but it is not exactly the same for everyone.

Meditation helps me because it helps me clear my mind. It helps me get things off of my chest without having to talk or even say them.

One of the ways that I meditate is by sitting in silence.  Another way is by listening to music.

My way of meditation may not be the same as your form of meditation. Some other way of meditation may interest you or help you more compared to what I do. But you have to find that out for youself–nobody can do it for you.

How do you meditate?

There are many ways to meditate. There is self-guided meditation where you guide yourself through meditation, breathing in your own time with a focus on the breathing activity.

There is also group meditation when you meditate in a quiet space together with others.

Some people have their own way of being still and finding peace. Some people may meditate and walk or just stare up at the sky. These are simplistic ways of meditation that cost nothing but help a lot.

How can you find your own way?

Even with that, there are also people out there who have meditative experiences through activity and movement, even sports. I think I might be one of those people.

With an open mind, you can try different meditation techniques.  Which ones work well for you?  Share below.
