Sisterhood Agenda’s PARKS Holistic Housing project is moving along. As many developers know, building housing is a process involving steady planning, strategy, and patience, plus adaptability.
Every woman needs a home.
Some say good partners are hard to find, but at Sisterhood Agenda, most of our partners find us! We are pleased to let you all know that we are in the process of finalizing our partnerships and development team for the PARKS Holistic Housing development in Baltimore County, Maryland. Sisterhood Agenda is grateful to have such knowledgeable, dedicated, generous partners.

In addition, Sisterhood Agenda is working with a dedicated student team from the University of California San Diego to assist with project public awareness and fundraising including timelines, presentations, social media graphics, pitches, and identification of new donors specifically for the PARKS Holistic Housing Project.
Sisterhood Agenda President, Angela D. Coleman, met with Councilman David Marks and Bowleys Quarters community leaders in Middle River, Maryland on January 9, 2022 to discuss the PARKS Holistic Housing project. Understandably, the group had some questions regarding the development and protection of the area’s local ecosystem. Members of the group were encouraged by Sisterhood Agenda’s permaculture strategy, sustainable green building practices, use of green spaces in the PARKS design, and Sisterhood Agenda’s experience building its award-winning eco-facility in a water community (St. John) that is both similar to and different from their own.
In addition, they were impressed with the fact that Sisterhood Agenda plans to preserve the local eco system in the development of PARKS Holistic Housing, leaving 90% of the land acreage as preserved green space.
More community meetings are planned for the future and Sisterhood Agenda is pleased to participate and present information whenever we can. We are excited and encouraged by how receptive community members are to the unique type of housing Sisterhood Agenda is creating and the opportunities to partner with us to serve the needs of local residents:
We brainstormed about the many different ways that Sisterhood Agenda and their organizations can partner for community benefit, for example, for veterans, food bank information, supporting local improvement projects that were currently underway, hosting community giveaways, and helping local residents in need.
Securing storage space is a priority as Sisterhood Agenda continues to collect donations, furnishings, and community giveaway items for PARKS residents, the community, and the general public. We currently have a trailer and storage unit and are in the process of securing storage that can be placed on the property to add much greater storage capacity than what we presently have. We are also planning to set up a construction trailer for predevelopment activities with our engineers, contractors, architect, and builder.
If you would like to contribute to Sisterhood Agenda’s PARKS Holistic Housing Project, you can do so in many different ways:
Thank you for all of your support, assistance, and well wishes! They mean so much.
