Are you a stressed-out sister?  If so, there are some things that you might need RIGHT NOW  Let’s make a brief list of what you might like and how you need to be supported.

Learn The Art of Chilling Out

In my latest book, The Art of Chilling Out for Women, I share insights on how to transform from a stressed-out worrier to a relaxation warrior.  Through holistic prescriptions for mind, body, and spirit, you can learn how to release, relax, and develop a chilled out lifestyle for optimal health and emotional well-being.

A solid support system

I consistently advocate for sisterhood support and the caring love of family and friends to help you move through rough patches in life.

Your life is a team effort.

When things go exactly as you imagine (which doesn’t happen all that often), they can cheer you on. When things do not go exactly as planned and you get stressed out, they can help you work through the feelings created by having those expectations that didn’t materialize.

Gratitude

We hear this message all the time.  I mean, you know that things could always be a lot worse, right?  Being grateful for what you have, and not dwelling on losses-this is how you manage your stress.  When you gain a bigger perspective and know that something much better for you will become available, this can reduce your stress levels and anxiety.

A different environment

As tempting as it is to sit in the safety and comfort of your bubble, I encourage you to move, and I mean, literally.  Go outside, drive to the store, go to the movies, visit a friend, go to a local cafe… when you are totally stressed out, take action to change the scene.  Changing the scene changes the vibe.  You can also make your home into a more healing environment.  This will be very good for your mental health.

Body movement

Walking, jogging, biking, stretching, dancing, circuit training, and all forms of exercise gets endorphins stimulated, which feels wonderful.  Moving can make you happy!  Do whatever movement you like to do.  It is a very simple and effective way to combat stress in or outside of your home.

Keep healing

Healing looks different for everyone and you are going to heal in your own time, doing your own thing in your own way.  Don’t stop.  Keep going. Keep healing.  Keep growing.

Your commitment to healing demonstrates your powerful self-love and feelings of self-worth.

Leave the toxic people and dysfunctional behavior behind, especially after a negative relationship.

Learning something new

Reading a new book, mastering a new hobby, cooking with a new recipe, and other enjoyable activities spark brain activity and joy together, which is an awesome combination.  Express your passion.  Use this feeling of joyfulness to direct which activities to do to elevate your mood.  Learn the benefits of starting a new hobby-it’s so good for you!

And remember… don’t give up

No matter what, keep building.  Your dreams and talents are unique.  While life can sometimes be challenging, keep acquiring the tools that you need to keep you emotionally balanced and successful.  Know that stressed-out experiences are temporary and passing. When you feel stuck, reach out for help to pull through.
