One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite artists, Strength, Courage & Wisdom by India.Arie, gets me motivated and helps me put things in perspective.
Strength
Resilience and fortitude build strength, the capacity to endure and excel. Most of us only know our own strength when it is tested through trials and tribulations. Only then can we really know how much we can take. It’s amazing how much we can handle when the situation calls for us to be strong.
Courage
Courage is not the absence of fear; it is moving forward and acting even when you are afraid. I encourage myself and others to be the reluctant heroes in their life journeys because it is often the only way to reach your divine destiny.
When you find yourself stopping and questioning when it comes to next steps, ask yourself, “What am I afraid of?” Play this song! Get the courage to do what you know you need to do.
Wisdom
Wisdom is knowledge gained and successfully applied. Since I have lived about a half-century, I like to think that I have some wisdom, not just the book knowledge, but important life lessons learned the hard way-from my personal and professional experiences.
Wisdom also comes from our elders, ancestors, and our guardian angels. It is successfully applied when it is shared to help yourself and others.
